Our Philosophy
Honour Nature, Cause No Harm
At Whorl Ag, we believe that sharing knowledge, beliefs, behaviours, practices, and benefits with everyone on their agriculture journey is important to improving agricultural productivity and the landscape.
Our name, Whorl Ag reflects our core values of:
W Wild
Living and growing as the natural environment intended.
Diversity is the key to an ecosystem's health and therefore rewilding our agricultural landscape is the cornerstone of our coaching.
H Holistic
The belief that the parts of something are intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.
The four essesntial elements earth, fire, air, and water are essential for all life. We're mindful of considering the whole when coaching or knowledge sharing.
O Organic
Relating to or derived from living matter, free of chemical fertilisers, pesticides, or other artificial chemicals.
The health and nutrition of all living things reflect the health and nutrition of the soil, water, and air from which it has grown.
R Reciprocal
Balanced, interdependent, mutually beneficial, connected cycles.
We help farmers understand the cycles of the natural world and integrate them with farming systems and the wider landscape.
L Living
Alive and thriving
A farming system based on supporting and enhancing life will result in a resilient landscape that is regenerative and a business that has long-term viability within a thriving community.
AG Ag
Agriculture - field culture
All landscape of any size are considered by Whorl Ag to be worthy of conscientious land management.
Our Team
Marcia Smith
Director
Marcia Smith
Director
Raised in Western Queensland, Marcia has worked in the Australian agriculture industry her whole life. With a passion for the natural world, Marcia helps people navigate a life of well-being through understanding soil health and nutritious food production.
Marcia saw first-hand the consequences of using large-scale fertilisers and pesticide applications on farming land, as well as workers and consumers of produce. This not only saw a degrading landscape, but a larger dietary shift to more highly processed foods.
Seeing that change was needed, Marcia began providing farmers, land managers, and interested people with tailored consultation for a path for healthy farming and living.
The well-being of people, the farming landscape and the environment continue to be at the core of what she does.
